Learning Progression aligned with the Mathematics Practices

Write a Learning Progression for a unit of aligned to a critical area from one of the domains in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Also explain the alignment between the progression of task and each of the four Mathematical Practice pairs.

Required Components:
• Identify a critical area from one of the domains in the CCSSM
• Describe in paragraph form the sequence of concepts and skills the students will need to learn.
• Align the standards to the concepts and skills described in the learning progression.
• Include possible tasks that could be used to teach the concepts and skills described in the learning progression.
• Identify and explain where and how each of the mathematical practice pairs will be taught and assessed.

Grading Rubric:
• Include all required components (0-5)
• Learning progression makes use of how students learn mathematics (0-15)
• Common Core Standards are aligned with concepts and skills in the learning progression (1-10)
• Possible instructional tasks are discussed in the learning progression (1-10)
• Each mathematical practice pair is identified and an explanation is included for how students will be taught and assessed in their ability to perform the mathematical practice (1-10)
